It's not very polite to revert changes someone spends time working on, especially when it's purely aesthetic. I spent an entire hour rewriting the parameter names to make them more consistent with each other. --Dane 21:47, 10 November 2013 (UTC)

I don't see how adding type prefix to SOME of the parameters, changing parameters to incorrect names makes them consistent with each other. And we are not talking about the consistency with the rest of the wiki, which your changes did not provide. --Robotboy655 13:37, 11 November 2013 (UTC)
I prefixed primitives with Hungarian notation, there's no need to prefix self explanatory variables like 'player', 'weapon', 'entity', etc.. I did that because some hooks have player as 'pl' or 'ply', and others had different styles of naming in the same function. --Dane 19:46, 16 November 2013 (UTC)
You're not the overseer of the wiki. Threatening to ban just makes you look controlling. --Dane 16:25, 18 November 2013 (UTC)

Please do not change Functions, or Variables. They do not work on Shared, they work on Server only. I have tested this before posting. --RedXVIII 7:32pm, 6 June 2014 (UTC)

What is that supposed to mean? I run this place. Those two functions you changed - I didn't touch their realm, it was like this initially. --Robotboy655 11:09, 7 June 2014 (UTC)
Sorry I didn't explain enough. You changed Player:HasWeapon, and a couple more that I changed the realms for were on shared, which no longer works on shared, they only work on the Server realm now. I have tested this before hand. --RedXVIII 11:14pm, 7 June 2014 (UTC)
RedXVIII, Robotboy655 has been updating functions that are about to be added or modified in the upcoming update (hopefully) next week. Please refer to and take note, under "Improvements", that "Player:HasWeapon and Player:GetWeapon are now shared". I hope this clears up the issue. --Mista Tea 7:18am, 8 June 2014 (UTC)

Is $wgAllowUserCss enabled on this wiki? Cheers - TheFreeman193, 15:59, 18 January 2015 (UTC)

I think it is. --Robotboy655 14:08, 22 January 2015 (UTC)
Okay, thanks. Do you not have read access for LocalSettings.php and includes/DefaultSettings.php, then? - TheFreeman193, 18:45, 22 January 2015 (UTC)

Would you prefer non-bold or bold strings? Example: Media:robot.string_example.png and Media:robot.string_example_bold.png --Yupi2 13:35, 22 January 2015 (UTC)

I feel like non-bold is better --Robotboy655 14:08, 22 January 2015 (UTC)

I feel that the wiki should have a link to the GMOD page (So people can use it quick searching and reference to code), but none of the pages I've seen so far seem fit for it. Can you find a place for it? Link -- Yupi2 12:59, 22 January 2015 (UTC)

The function and hook templates already include File and Line params that generate a 'View Source' link to GitHub if included (example), but it's up to RobotBoy whether there should be a link to the base of the repo. - TheFreeman193, 19:59, 22 January 2015 (UTC)
That's a nice thing to know about. I'm tempted to start spamming edits to add that to lots of pages now --Yupi2 20:08, 22 January 2015 (UTC)

Since there's an issue with syntax highlighting using pre tags under some circumstances (a problem I imagine is somewhere in rainbow), I was wondering if it's worth having a tag for displaying console outputs in examples. This would allow people to avoid using the former tag excessively, which is one of the causes of the highlighting issues. It could be done with CSS for the code or samp tag, or perhaps with a template instead of modifying the skin CSS. -- TheFreeman193 01:13, 10 February 2015 (UTC)

Both code and samp tags will act like pre tags ( except for the rainbow ) once the css updates. --Robotboy655 11:47, 12 February 2015 (UTC)
Okay, thanks. -- TheFreeman193 20:00, 12 February 2015 (UTC)

I was wondering if it'd be worth putting a line like this in the skin JS for removing whitespace on function pages with no args:
$.trim($("#bodyContent SPAN.function_args").html())||$("#bodyContent DIV.function_line").each(function(n,e){$(e).html($(e).html().replace(/\(\s+/g,"(").replace(/\s+\)/g,")"))});
-- TheFreeman193 19:29, 21 February 2015 (UTC)

Will do, but with a more elegant solution. --Robotboy655 23:36, 22 February 2015 (UTC)

Enums suddenly not sortable

Enums seem to have lost their sorting buttons some time recently. I could have sworn they were sortable a few days ago! For example: DMG_ Enums

The template even has class="wikitable sortable" in it. Did something break? --NeatNit 18:27, 25 February 2015 (UTC)

Looks to be the change that I suggested above; on a page where no function_line element exists, the JS errors and I reckon this is what's breaking the MW sorters. Robotboy came up with a simpler version of the code you see in the previous topic, but it seems to need some defensive coding against non-func pages. -- TheFreeman193 19:27, 25 February 2015 (UTC)
I have absolutely no idea what any of this means, never having dabbled in web development. Does this mean you know how to fix it? --NeatNit 21:35, 25 February 2015 (UTC)
Yes, it's a 5-minute fix; all he'll need to do is add a check for that class, or wrap it in a jQuery each so that the new code isn't called if not on a function page (i.e. an enum list/main page). -- TheFreeman193 22:43, 25 February 2015 (UTC)
My bad, fix will be applied in a few hours. You better report these things on my Steam profile ( as a comment ), so I get notifications and react faster. --Robotboy655 23:10, 26 February 2015 (UTC) and possibly some of the other pages created by Whitestar (too lazy to check which ones) should be deleted as it is an inherited function.--Zerf 03:05, 27 May 2015 (UTC)

They are actually not inherited. --Robotboy655 13:17, 27 May 2015 (UTC)

What i meant by "Not networked" on my edit is, calling it on the server wont call the function on the client. Though i just realized its purpose is to be called in a shared hook so only the client will execute the function. Is that correct? If so, it should be stated so on the page because the current version is very confusing.

The whole purpose of the function is to be called serverside so it calls a SWEP function on the client, and it does work because I use it in my SWEP base. --Robotboy655 10:23, 21 August 2015 (UTC)

Please delete in which I made a typo in the title. --Zerf 00:48, 8 September 2015 (UTC)

I was working on an edit to UniqueID and it got conflicted with yours. I placed it in User:NeatNit/Sandbox/UniqueID, what do you think? It has loads of different changes all across the page so it's kind of a 'yours or mine' situation. --NeatNit 12:42, 27 April 2016 (UTC)

Comparison: [1] --NeatNit 12:46, 27 April 2016 (UTC)
Just put you changes over mine, but not the deprecated thing. --Robotboy655 13:02, 27 April 2016 (UTC)
Done. --NeatNit 13:12, 27 April 2016 (UTC)

Question about searching

I am not sure if this is the best place to ask but I was wondering if there was any way to search by template on the wiki, like get a list of all pages that use the ClassFunction template etc

Some beach 09:52, 3 May 2018 (UTC)

You shouldn't have the need to do this. --Robotboy655 12:50, 3 May 2018 (UTC)
Okay well, I found the way to do it anyways,<templatename> Some beach 05:57, 4 May 2018 (UTC)

Moving Clientside Ragdolls

Is there a way to move client side ragdolls? (or make them server side?)

The setting "Keep Corpses" under the setting NPC in sandbox, makes it possible to move the ragdolls... I can not figure out what function is ran when the command "ai_serverragdolls" (Keep Corpses Setting) is on. It does not work on clientside ragdolls when I spawn them it seems... I have been trying to set some spawn-flags, but no luck yet. --Ravo10 11:19, 9 February 2019 (UTC)

This is not the place to ask Lua questions. Go to Wiki talk pages are for wiki talk only. --Robotboy655 16:34, 9 February 2019 (UTC)
OK, thanks, will do --Ravo10 20:10, 9 February 2019 (UTC)
Not possible. --Ravo10 20:17, 9 February 2019 (UTC)
