Locations of installation

Creating a bin folder in the home folder might confuse unexperienced users more than a Steam folder as in Hosting A Dedicated Server.

Also, gmod_server would be easier for the end user than server_1 and users running more than one server per machine will probably be able to change this on their own. --Jooiiee 22:35, 14 September 2013 (UTC)

Just noticed the script in the main dedicated server article was written by Garry. I would say that is enough to change the locations. --Jooiiee 22:41, 14 September 2013 (UTC)

Installing additional game content by default

To make the process simpler, the additional game content could be added to the install script from the beginning, maybe commented if the download time would be to long, with a instruction to uncomment. --Jooiiee 22:35, 14 September 2013 (UTC)

Merging the linux section of Hosting A Dedicated Server

Havning a separate Linux section on Hosting A Dedicated Server would just result in more work maintaining the wiki in a good condition, and just the two different ways of installing that are on the wiki today can cause problems and confusion. The section should be merged in to this article. --Jooiiee 22:35, 14 September 2013 (UTC)

Using the script with steamcmd installed from package repositories

Since the linked page, describing the steamcmd setup, recommends installing from package repositories it would be helpful to adjust the script to that. The script works if you simply replace the steamcmd path with the command 'steamcmd'. --Illousion 13:05, 29 June 2019 (GMT+1)
